PS124 Media Education Update
3rd, 4th and 5th graders at PS 124 reached the holiday break with a good bit of multimedia production experience under their belts.
The goal of the TMS residency at PS 124 is to facilitate media education within the existing classroom curriculum by introducing student-centered and language-based technology integration projects. Traditional literacy lessons are expanded to include Internet and visual media communication skills.
So far, students have developed basic typing, computer and Internet skills by using class blogs as part of their literacy work, and have started creating videos adapted from their written work.
